


A dengue prevention awareness rally and cleanliness campaign has officially started in Lakshmipur.
Organized by the District Health Department, the rally began at the Sadar Hospital premises at around 11:00 am on Saturday (June 6). Participants marched through the South Tehmuni Traffic Square before returning to the hospital, concluding the event with a brief discussion on public health.
Key attendees included District Civil Surgeon Mohammad Abu Hasan Shahin, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Alam Bhuiyan, NDC Habibur Rahman, and Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer Arup Pal. Local newspaper editors Md. Abbas Hossain (Daily Meghnar Par) and Marun Hasan Raju (Bhorer Malancha) also joined the initiative.
During the discussion, speakers emphasized that dengue infections peak during the rainy season. They urged residents to destroy potential mosquito breeding grounds by keeping their homes and courtyards clean, and encouraged participants to actively raise awareness within their communities.
