


Three men were sentenced to prison following a special anti-drug drive in Khidirpur Union of Monohardi Upazila, Narsingdi. Police seized Yaba, marijuana, and drug consumption equipment during the operation.
The drive took place near Khidirpur Bazar on June 18, 2026. Officers arrested Sohrab, 36, of Kalirchar village, for disorderly conduct while under the influence of Yaba. Authorities confiscated two Yaba tablets and related equipment from his possession. Under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 (amended 2023), Sohrab received a five-month suspended sentence.
During the same operation, Mosharraf, 29, of Nayapara village, was caught consuming marijuana. Following his confession, a mobile court sentenced him to five months in prison, and the marijuana was confiscated. Additionally, Ashraful, 18, of Khidirpur village, received a one-month prison sentence for marijuana consumption.
The operation was directed by Monohardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Jahangir Badsha, and supported by SI Kawsar of the Rampur Police Outpost along with a team of officers.
Police stated that strict anti-drug operations will continue in Monohardi to help build a drug-free community.
