


The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), Professor Dr S. M. Hemayet Jahan, has underscored the importance of integrity, accountability, professionalism and sincerity in carrying out official responsibilities during an exchange meeting with heads of various administrative divisions of the university.
The meeting was held at 11:30 am on Thursday at the Vice-Chancellor's conference room, where Prof Hemayet Jahan addressed the participants as the chief guest.
Among those present were Treasurer Professor Md Abdul Latif, Registrar Professor Dr Md Habibur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies Professor Dr Mohammad Atikur Rahman, Director of IQAC Professor Dr Mahbub Rabbani, Director of the Regional Training Centre (RTC) Professor Dr Mamun-Ur-Rashid, Acting Director of the Finance and Accounts Division Md Jasim Uddin, Senior Deputy Director of the Public Relations and Publications Division Md Mahfuzur Rahman Sabuj, Director of the International Affairs Cell Dr Hachib Mohammad Tushar, along with heads of various university offices and divisions.
Addressing the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor said, “A university is not merely an institution for higher education; it is also a centre for knowledge creation, research, innovation and the cultivation of human values. Ensuring a research-friendly environment is essential to building a modern and quality university.”
He further said, “For various reasons, the desired academic environment at PSTU was disrupted in the past. We will work collectively to overcome those challenges through mutual respect, trust and cooperation. The administration’s goal is to transform PSTU into one of the country’s leading institutions of higher education and a centre of excellence.”
Referring to the role of administrative offices, he noted that efficient and transparent operations in every department would accelerate the university’s overall development.
“We must work together to promote student welfare, academic excellence and research advancement,” he added.
During the meeting, participants shared various opinions and recommendations aimed at improving administrative efficiency, enhancing the quality of education and expanding research opportunities at the university.
