6 Leaders of Banned Awami League and Chhatra League Arrested in Chittagong

Police arrested six leaders of the banned Awami League and Chhatra League in Sitakunda, Chittagong. The arrests occurred during targeted police drives across the upazila on Monday (June 8) afternoon and night.

The arrestees are Ismail Siraji, former general secretary of Baroidhala Union Awami League; Ramzan Ali Bappi, vice-president of Sonaichhari Union Chhatra League; Rehan Uddin, president of Muradpur Union Chhatra League; and local Awami League leaders Syed Ashraf, Saifuddin, and Ashraful Islam.

Sitakunda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohinul Islam confirmed the arrests, stating the individuals were detained due to pending criminal cases against them at the station.
