Activists of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) held a sudden procession in Faridpur city on Thursday morning.

The flash march reportedly took place around 9:30 am on the Khandkar Nuru Mia Bypass road and was led by Faridpur District BCL Organizational Secretary Afiq bin Islam.

A 52-second video of the march surfaced on Facebook and uploaded by local BCL leader Mirza Dishan. In his caption, Dishan expressed optimism that the Awami League would soon openly reclaim the streets of Faridpur.

The footage shows an estimated 30 to 35 participants marching on a relatively empty road. Most protesters concealed their identities using medical masks and one wore a motorcycle helmet.

The group carried a banner prominently displaying the words "Return 2.0" alongside the message "Sheikh Hasina will come, Bangladesh will smile." During the brief march, participants chanted pro-Awami League slogans "Jai Bangla" and "We need Sheikh Hasina's government again."

Speaking to the media later, Afiq bin Islam claimed the procession lasted about 10 minutes and involved roughly 50 BCL workers.

Local law enforcement has responded cautiously to the incident. Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan acknowledged the viral footage but expressed skepticism about the claimed location.

"We have seen the video but it does not immediately appear to be the Faridpur city bypass road. It is possible the footage was recorded elsewhere and circulated with a false location" the OC stated also adding that police are actively investigating the matter.
