Two Farmers Killed by Lightning Strikes in Narail

Two farmers were killed and another person was severely injured in separate lightning strikes in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Saturday (June 6) afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Titul Khan, 45, of Shalnagar village, and Babul Biswas, 40, of Motinagar village.

According to local sources, Titul Khan was watering his cows in a field near his home when a sudden thunderstorm struck at approximately 5:00 PM. He died on the spot.

Around the same time, Babul Biswas and Shahid Sheikh were fishing in the nearby Ichamati Beel when they were also struck by lightning. Locals rushed both severely injured men to Narail District Hospital. Doctors at the emergency department declared Babul dead on arrival. Shahid is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The tragic deaths have cast a deep shadow of mourning over both villages.
