The Upazila Administration observed July Martyrs' Day on Thursday with a discussion meeting and prayer session at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shammi Kaiser and moderated by Upazila Cooperative Officer Abdur Rahman, the commemorative event began at 11:30 AM to honor the sacrifices of the July martyrs.
The gathering successfully brought together local government officials, political figures, and civic leaders. Notable speakers and attendees included Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdur Rahman, Narail District BNP Organizing Secretary Md. Tipu Sultan, and District Jamaat-e-Islami Working Committee Member Maulana Alamgir Hossain.
To ensure a unified local observance, representatives from various organizations—including municipal and upazila branches of the BNP, the Youth Party, and the Lohagara Press Club—were in attendance. They were joined by a cross-section of civil servants from the rural power, agriculture, youth development, and women's affairs departments.
Following the administrative and political addresses, the observance concluded with a special prayer seeking peace for the departed souls. The prayer was led by Mufti Nazmul Islam, Model Caretaker of the Lohagara Upazila Islamic Foundation.
