The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bogra-1 (Sariakandi-Sonatala) constituency Member of Parliament Kazi Rafiqul Islam as chief guest. Former Bogra District BNP Vice President and former Sariakandi Upazila BNP President Kazi Erfanur Rahman Rentu represented him at the event.

The program was presided over by Sariakandi Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Procurement Monitoring Committee President Sumaiya Ferdous.

Among others present were Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Upazila Food Controller Md. Abu Samrat Khan, and Sariakandi LSD Officer-in-Charge Rashedul Islam.

Md. Abu Samrat Khan said the target for the current Boro season is to collect 1,312 metric tons of rice and 1,403 metric tons of paddy at the Sariakandi food warehouse.

Under the government-fixed rate, rice will be purchased directly from farmers at Tk 49 per kg and paddy at Tk 36 per kg. The procurement drive will continue across the country until August 31.

Farmers will be able to sell paddy at government rates through the Krishak App, as in previous years.
