The body of Forkan Mia, the primary suspect in the brutal slaying of his wife and four children in Kapasia, has been recovered from the Padma River, police confirmed on Thursday.

At a press conference held at 3:30 PM, Gazipur District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharif Uddin stated that investigators tracked Forkan’s final movements through CCTV footage. The video showed a man identified as Forkan standing on the Padma Bridge before jumping into the river.

"He was carrying a bag and extra clothing at the time," SP Sharif Uddin told reporters. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) later recovered these personal items from the bridge. The discovery concludes a brief but intensive manhunt following the discovery of five family members found with their throats slit in their Gazipur home.
