Disaster Risk Reduction Workshop Held in Nageshwari

A programme sharing meeting, UJEDMC consultation, and lesson-learning workshop under the Disaster Risk Reduction Project was held in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram.

The event took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Upazila Parishad meeting room. It was supported financially by the World Bank and received technical assistance from the World Food Programme (WFP).

Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Badruzzaman Risad presided over the programme. During the session, WFP representative Sadek Ali presented the project’s goals, objectives, work areas, and implementation process using a PowerPoint presentation.

Among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Shahriar Hossain, Senior Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mofakhkharul Islam, Upazila BNP Convener Golam Rasul Raja, Kachakata Union Parishad Chairman Shahadat Hossain Mandal, Kaliganj Union Parishad Chairman Riazul Islam, and the Upazila Coordinator of NDP spoke at the event.

The workshop focused on strengthening local disaster preparedness, coordination, and community resilience.
