


The Alumni Association of German Universities in Bangladesh (AAGUB) hosted a reception today for the German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, at the Goethe-Institut in Dhanmondi. The event coincided with the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The program featured a seminar attended by German alumni from across the country. Frank Werner, Director of the Goethe-Institut, attended as the special guest.
Presiding over the event, AAGUB President and Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam, highlighted the deep-rooted cultural and educational ties between the two nations.
"Alumni of German universities serve as a vital bridge in advancing our bilateral relationship," Professor Islam stated. "In an era where knowledge-based societies are essential, international cooperation in research and innovation remains our top priority."
Chief Guest Ambassador Dr. Rüdiger Lotz shared insights from his tenure in Bangladesh, emphasizing Germany's robust opportunities for higher education and research. He praised the growing interest among Bangladeshi students in German academic institutions and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
The session, moderated by AAGUB General Secretary Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun Khan, concluded with alumni sharing their academic experiences and pledging to support the association’s future initiatives.
