HSC Pass Rate 52.57% Under Chattogram Education Board

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under all education boards in the country were published on Thursday (October 16) at 10:00 AM. Students were able to access their results through the education board websites, SMS, examination centers, and respective institutions.

At a press conference held at the Chattogram Education Board auditorium, Controller of Examinations Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury announced that the overall pass rate under the Chattogram Education Board stands at 52.57 percent, with 6,097 students obtaining GPA-5.

In Chattogram city, the pass rate was significantly higher at 70.90 percent, while in the district areas it stood at 43.63 percent. Among the three hill districts, Rangamati recorded a pass rate of 41.24 percent, Khagrachhari 35.53 percent, and Bandarban 36.38 percent. In Cox's Bazar district, the pass rate was 45.39 percent.

This year, a total of 102,970 candidates appeared for the HSC examinations under the Chattogram board, out of whom 53,560 students passed. The pass rate for male students was 48.95 percent, while for female students it was higher at 55.49 percent.

By stream, the Science group achieved the highest pass rate at 78.75 percent, followed by the Business Studies group at 55.30 percent, and the Humanities group at 37.08 percent.

Officials noted a decline in both pass rates and GPA-5 achievers compared to last year.

Chattogram Education Board Chairman Elias Uddin Ahmed and Secretary A.K.M. Shamsuddin Azad were also present at the press briefing.

Institutions can download the full results using their EIIN number through the “Result Corner” on the website www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.Students can also check results individually through the same site or their respective education board websites. Results are also available by sending an SMS to 16222. The education ministry, board offices, or newspapers will not provide printed results directly.

Students seeking re-evaluation of results can apply online between October 17 and October 23 via the website https://rescrutinu.eduboardresult.gov.bd.Detailed instructions regarding the application process will be announced through official board websites and national newspapers.

This year’s HSC and equivalent exams began on June 26 and concluded on August 19, with a few rescheduled exams held shortly thereafter.
