A fire erupted at a Jhut warehouse located in Sreepur, Gazipur, resulting in the destruction of various goods and the death of three cows. The incident occurred around 12:30 am on Tuesday, with significant losses amounting to crores of taka, including Jhut and cotton that were stored in the facility.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire started at Sarwar Hossain's Jhut warehouse in the Bakultala area along the Maona-Sreepur road at approximately 12:00 am. Upon receiving the alert, two units from the Sreepur Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene to engage in firefighting efforts. As the flames grew more intense, two additional units from the Rajendrapur Modern Fire Service joined the operation to help control the blaze. Unfortunately, all the Jhut goods in the warehouse were consumed by the fire, and three cows that were nearby perished in the flames.

Mohammad Mamun, the Deputy Assistant Director of the Gazipur Fire Service, reported that four fire service units were actively working to extinguish the fire. He was unable to provide immediate information regarding the cause of the fire or the total extent of the damage. The fire was finally brought under control around 3 am on Tuesday. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities among people; however, three cows located on one side of the warehouse were lost in the incident. Additionally, various items, including cotton, jhoot, and scrap metal, were destroyed in the fire.
