


A 13-year-old schoolboy was killed and another seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a tree in Pabna Sadar upazila.
The accident occurred at around 10pm on Wednesday (August 26) in Mahadebpur village of Bharara Union.
The deceased was identified as Qutub Biswas, 13, son of Sifat Biswas of Mahadebpur village and a Class 8 student at Siddiq Memorial School in Pabna. The injured boy, Abdur Rahman, 12, is the son of the late Ramzan Ali of the same village and a Class 7 student at Pabna Islamia Fazil Madrasa.
According to local residents and eyewitnesses, the two boys were returning home from nearby Sewli Bazar when the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree. Qutub died at the scene, while Abdur Rahman sustained serious injuries.
Locals rescued the injured boy and took him to Pabna General Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.
Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tarikul Islam said the deceased’s body was handed over to his family that night. Necessary legal procedures are underway.
