Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred the global transfer market by hinting at a potential return to European football.
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he was honored as the Best Middle East Player, the 40-year-old superstar confirmed that his professional journey is far from over and may not be limited to the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo’s primary motivation remains the historic pursuit of 1,000 career goals—a milestone never officially reached by any male player. Following a decisive brace in Al-Nassr’s 3–0 victory over Al Akhdoud on Saturday, his career total has climbed to 956 goals. He has already netted 40 goals in 2025 alone. Cristiano said "I will reach the number (1,000 goals) for sure, if no injuries," Ronaldo stated, emphasizing his unwavering confidence.
While currently leading Al-Nassr to a record 10-match winning streak, Ronaldo’s comments suggest he is open to new challenges. "It doesn't matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe," he remarked, signaling to top-tier clubs that he is willing to consider the right opportunity back on his home continent.
As he approaches his 41st birthday, Ronaldo credits his longevity to a legendary fitness regimen involving Pilates, swimming, and strict nutrition. This physical peak has kept him in contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Portugal, proving that his "elite production" remains intact despite his age.
