Senior BNP leader Mirza Abbas is being prepared to be taken to Singapore for advanced medical treatment after falling ill earlier this week.

According to party sources, doctors have advised that he be transferred abroad for better treatment. Arrangements are being made to take him to Singapore by air ambulance on Friday (March 13).

Mirza Abbas reportedly fell unconscious while drinking water during iftar on Wednesday evening. When his condition did not improve, he was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka later that night.

Several political leaders visited the hospital to inquire about his health.

Shafiqur Rahman visited the hospital and spoke with Abbas’s wife about his condition and ongoing treatment. He also prayed for the BNP leader’s recovery. He was accompanied by Dr. SM Khaliduzzaman, president of Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moin Khan also visited the hospital.

They spoke with doctors and family members to learn about Mirza Abbas’s health condition and ongoing treatment.

Party leaders said they hope he will recover soon and return to normal activities after receiving proper medical care.
