Eight students of Shaheed Gafur Government Primary School in Paikgacha, Khulna, have been honoured for receiving primary scholarships.
The reception was held at the school auditorium on Thursday (September 24) afternoon. The programme was chaired by Sheikh Ruhul Quddus, president of the school’s managing committee and organising secretary of Paikgacha Municipality BNP, and conducted by head teacher Selina Parvin.
Upazila Education Officer Azharul Islam attended as the chief guest. Upazila Assistant Education Officer Sanjay Debnath and managing committee member Rocky Biswas were present as special guests.
Teachers Shilpi Parvin, Sadhana Sarkar, Shibpad Sardar, Papiya Sultana, Suraiya Yasmin, Priyanka Mistry and Nazmul Hossain also attended the programme.
A total of 11 students from the school took part in the Primary Scholarship Examination 2025, with eight securing scholarships. Among them, three received scholarships in the Talentpool category, while five received scholarships in the general grade.
The Talentpool scholarship recipients are Mariam Jahan Labiba, Huyaifa Iqbal and Nusaiba Rawnak Rimas.
The five general-grade scholarship recipients are Pritha Sarkar, Hridita Mondal, Samiha Afrin, Souhardya Mallik and Saimun Islam.
The school authorities presented the scholarship recipients with commemorative crests at the reception.
