Training Held for Election Officials in Porsha Ahead of National Polls

Comprehensive training for presiding, assistant presiding, and polling officers began Thursday at Nitpur Government Model School and College to ensure a fair and impartial environment for the upcoming 13th Parliamentary Elections and constitutional referendum.

The day-long program, organized by the Upazila Election Office, was inspected by Naogaon Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Saiful Islam. Other senior officials, including District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam and Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam, were also in attendance.

According to local election authorities, the following preparations are in place for the voting scheduled for February 12, 2026.

A total of 1,12,766 voters are eligible to cast their ballots across six unions. 39 polling centers have been established in various educational institutions. The training session included 41 Presiding Officers 224 Assistant Presiding Officers 447 Polling Officers (including a 5% reserve)

UNO Rakibul Islam expressed confidence that the dual voting process—covering both the parliamentary seats and the national referendum—will be conducted peacefully and festively.
