BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman Expresses 'Deep Concerns' Over Deadly Earthquake

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep sadness and concern over the severe earthquake that struck Bangladesh today, resulting in the loss of six lives and injuring over two hundred individuals, along with causing extensive damage to high-rise buildings in Dhaka and widespread destruction elsewhere.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, Tarique Rahman offered his solidarity and deepest sympathy to all the people affected by the "terrible natural disaster."

He prayed to Almighty Allah for the peace of the departed souls, extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, and wished a swift recovery for all the injured.

The BNP leader also raised concerns regarding government preparedness, stating, "Had the government been better prepared beforehand, it would have been possible to improve disaster management, better protect the people, and reduce the scale of the damage."

He expressed confidence in the resilience of the Bangladeshi people, believing they "will be able to recover from the damage caused by today's earthquake."

Tarique Rahman announced that the BNP will stand firmly beside the people affected by the earthquake. The earthquake, which occurred at 10:38 AM, has led to casualties and significant structural damage across the country.
