A large crowd of locals and BNP activists in Islampur, Jamalpur, gathered on Friday evening to watch BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s recent interview with BBC Bangla on a big screen. The event was organized by the Islampur Upazila BNP and its affiliated bodies at Dharmakura Bazar.
The initiative was held under the guidance of Upazila BNP president and former MP Alhaj Sultan Mahmud Babu, and led by mayoral aspirant and Upazila BNP joint organizing secretary Nazim Hossain Noman.
Noman said Tarique Rahman’s remarks on democracy, voting rights, and people’s future “reflect the voice of the nation, not just of the BNP,” adding that his logical message offers “direction for the ongoing democratic movement.”
Several BNP leaders, including Hafizur Rahman, Azgor Ali, Mozammel Haque, and Karimullah Bepari, attended the event. Participants said they were inspired by Tarique Rahman’s clear stance on democracy, elections, and citizens’ rights, which resonated strongly among locals.
