


Three more children died from measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, according to the Sunday, June 21 briefing from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during this period.
Over the same 24 hours ending at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, the country recorded 1,063 new pediatric cases. This includes 62 confirmed measles infections and 1,001 children presenting with suspected symptoms. Hospitals nationwide admitted 957 new pediatric patients, while 879 children successfully recovered and were discharged.
Since the outbreak tracking began on March 15, the disease has claimed the lives of 680 children—93 from confirmed measles and 587 from suspected symptoms.
According to the DGHS, the cumulative number of confirmed measles cases now stands at 11,111, alongside 92,790 suspected cases. Of the 76,859 patients hospitalized during this period, 72,849 have made a full recovery and returned home.
