


A fire broke in the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport section of in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon, officials confirmed. The affected area is used to store imported goods from overseas.
Four fire service units were working to bring the blaze under control said by the Duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
The Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Masudul Hasan Masud, told the media that the fire erupted in a section adjacent to the Cargo Village.
The spokesman added that members of the fire service, Bangladesh Air Force, and airport personnel were jointly working to douse the flames.
The Executive Director also confirmed that flight operations at the airport remained unaffected despite the fire. At the time of filing this report the cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage were yet to be determined.
