The Election Commission (EC) is fully prepared to hold the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and a referendum, according to Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat.

Ahmed made this announcement while speaking at a training workshop organized for journalists on the national election. The workshop was a joint effort held at the Election Training Institute (ETI) in Agargaon, with support from the UNDP and the Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED).

Regarding the official election schedule announcement, the EC Secretary stated that a specific date has not yet been fixed.

This follows an earlier statement from Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin on November 29. During an inspection of a mock voting exercise at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Girls’ High School, the CEC had told reporters that the EC hoped to announce the schedule for the national parliamentary election in the second week of December.

The CEC also expressed optimism that the law and order situation would continue to improve, ensuring conditions remain favorable for holding the election.
