Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday called on business people, young entrepreneurs and researchers to work together to build a prosperous Bangladesh. He made the appeal while inaugurating the three-day "Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026" at Novo Theatre in the capital.
"Your cooperation is needed. Let us work together to build the state we aspire to build" he said with assuring full government support to entrepreneurs and researchers.
Tarique urged greater collaboration among the government, investors, researchers and financial institutions also praising the presentations made at the event particularly by Dr. Anisuzzaman for outlining a clear course of action for the country's future.
Science and Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam, PM's Adviser Rehan Asif Asad, the parliamentary committee chairman M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, BUET professor Dr Muhammad Anisuzzaman Talukder and the Science and Technology Ministry Secretary also spoke at the event.
The fair aims to connect local innovation with policy support, industry, investment and market access. It brings together policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and development partners also featuring participation from 73 public and private universities, startups, SMEs and global investors. More than 1,000 innovations spanning technology, healthcare, agriculture and education are being showcased.
Organisers said the fair aims to address funding gaps, policy barriers and weak institutional support that often prevent promising local innovations from reaching the market.
A special healthcare session on day two, "Healthcare Innovation for All" will focus on affordable healthcare access with Dr Zubaida Rahman as chief guest.
NBR, DPDT and FICCI are strategic partners while UNDP serves as technical partner for the event.
