Hormonal imbalance is a common issue among women, but its early signs often go unnoticed. It usually develops gradually and can quietly affect daily life.

Indian nutritionist and health coach Renu Rakheja recently highlighted several subtle symptoms that many people dismiss as fatigue or age-related changes.

Sleep changes are often the first warning sign

According to Renu, disrupted sleep is one of the earliest indicators of hormonal imbalance. While many blame stress or a busy routine, it can signal internal changes in the body.

Watch for these signs:

  • Waking up at 3am: Sudden early waking and difficulty falling back asleep
  • Light sleep: Spending enough time in bed but not feeling rested
  • Frequent urination: Waking up multiple times at night to use the bathroom
  • Morning fatigue: Feeling tired even after a full night’s sleep

Experts warn that poor sleep can affect the entire body, leading to irritability, weight gain, anxiety, and increased stress.

How to restore hormonal balance

Lifestyle changes play a key role in managing hormonal health. Experts suggest:

  • Improve your diet: Avoid junk food and excess sugar. Eat more protein and fiber
  • Manage stress: Practice meditation and breathing exercises regularly
  • Stay active: Engage in daily exercise such as walking, yoga, swimming, or strength training
  • Limit screen time: Avoid mobile or laptop use before bedtime to improve sleep quality
  • Stay hydrated: Drink enough water and reduce caffeine intake

When to seek medical advice

If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a qualified gynecologist. Proper diagnosis and treatment are essential. Avoid self-medication and focus on identifying the root cause for effective care.
