A recent poll by Hebrew University of Jerusalem offers insight into Israeli public opinion on the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran. The findings show that most Israelis oppose the current ceasefire.
Nearly two-thirds of respondents said they do not support the ceasefire. However, opinion is divided on whether the two-week pause should continue or if military operations should resume.
On the northern front, attitudes are similarly firm. Regarding the conflict with Hezbollah along the Lebanese border, 61 percent of Israelis support continuing military action. Many believe any agreement with Iran should not apply to Hezbollah.
When asked about the next step in dealing with Iran, 39 percent favored renewed attacks, while 41 percent supported maintaining the ceasefire for now.
The war has also affected domestic politics. Public support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined—from 40 percent at the start of the conflict to 34 percent. Overall, the survey suggests strong public backing for a tough military approach during wartime, alongside shifting trust in political leadership.
