Another Cargo Ship Catches Fire in the Strait of Hormuz

A cargo ship caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, March 11. The cause of the incident is unknown.

According to the United Kingdom's Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the ship was about 11 nautical miles north of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula. Following the incident, the crew requested assistance and has been safely evacuated.

The UKMTO has urged other vessels in the area to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity.

Earlier, another ship was reported damaged by an unidentified object off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
