Pakistan has reportedly finalized a landmark military equipment sale worth over $4 billion to the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Saddam Khalifa Haftar. The deal was reportedly struck following a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s military chief and LNA leadership in Benghazi last week.
The agreement, one of Pakistan’s largest-ever defense exports, reportedly includes 16 JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and 12 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, alongside equipment for land and sea forces.
While the LNA has confirmed a strategic defense pact, the deal is expected to face significant international scrutiny due to the long-standing United Nations arms embargo on Libya.
Neither Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry nor the Ministry of Defence has officially commented on the reports.
