Lakshmipur Municipality has unveiled a Tk 86.61 crore budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, offering relief to residents by imposing no new taxes. Municipal Administrator Samrat Khisa officially announced the budget on Tuesday afternoon at the municipal hall.
The financial blueprint projects a total income of Tk 86,61,12,149 against an estimated expenditure of Tk 83,00,30,000, leaving a surplus of Tk 3,60,82,149.
In his budget speech, Administrator Khisa described the financial plan as a practical roadmap for enhancing the quality of civic services. Key allocations heavily prioritize essential public needs: infrastructure development, public healthcare, drainage system upgrades, and sanitation activities. He expressed optimism that anticipated increases in government project allocations in the new fiscal year will drive further development across the municipality.
The budget session was attended by key local officials and civic leaders, including LGED Executive Engineer Ujjal Chowdhury, DPHE Executive Engineer Bilkis Akhter, municipal executive officers, and prominent members of the local business and political communities.
