The Pabna district administration hosted a reception on Thursday morning to honor Jorgachha United Government Primary School for winning the National Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament for the second consecutive year.

The Santhia-based school secured the 2026 championship on June 20, defeating Nandail Achargaon Government Primary School of Mymensingh 4-2 in the national final.

Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam presided over Thursday's event at the DC office conference room. During the program, he listened to the young athletes share their experiences and offered words of encouragement. The district administration then formally honored the team and presented them with financial assistance.

Several key officials and community leaders attended the reception, including Additional Deputy Commissioners Md. Moniruzzaman and Umme Tabassum, and Santhia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Riju Tamanna. Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhter, along with Pabna Journalists Union President Khairul Islam Basid and General Secretary Shamsul Alam, were also present to support the young champions.
