A day-long "Startup, Science Project, and Innovative Idea Exhibition" was held today in Kalia Upazila, aimed at fostering scientific thinking and creativity among local students.

Organized by the Kalia Upazila Administration, the event took place on Friday morning at the Upazila Parishad conference room. It brought together students, teachers and guardians from various educational institutions across the upazila.

A total of 15 stalls were set up at the exhibition, where young innovators showcased their startup plans and science-based projects. The displays focused heavily on real-world solutions, including environmental conservation, agricultural development, renewable energy, digital technology and social problem-solving, drawing significant praise from visitors.

Presiding over the event, Kalia Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam emphasized the critical role of such exhibitions in building a research-minded generation.

"To build a skilled and creative workforce capable of facing future global challenges, we must encourage our youth to innovate. The Upazila administration remains fully committed to providing a supportive environment for nurturing student talent," the UNO stated.

The program was hosted by Upazila ICT Officer Prasphut Mondal. Other notable attendees included Kalia Upazila BNP General Secretary S. M. Wahiduzzaman (Milu), Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abdul Momin and Upazila Academic Supervisor M. M. Sharafat Hossain, alongside various government officials.

Following a rigorous evaluation by a panel of judges, Kalabaria High School clinched the first position. Chanchuri Purulia Secondary School and Bishnupur Hamidpur Secondary School secured the second and third positions, respectively. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winning students and teachers.
