Four Dead, 20 Injured in Kushtia Bus-Truck Collision

Four people died and 20 others were seriously injured when a passenger bus collided with a truck in Khoksha, Kushtia, on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 11:30 am on the Kushtia-Rajbari highway, near the Shimulia South Kuthipara Mosque. According to police and witnesses, a drum truck heading toward Pangsha collided with a Kushtia-bound passenger bus. The impact caused the bus to overturn and plunge into a roadside pond.

Locals quickly mobilized to rescue the trapped passengers, transporting them to the Upazila Health Complex and the 250-bed Kushtia General Hospital for emergency treatment. Medical staff report that 10 to 15 of the injured are currently in critical condition.

Kushtia Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Obaid confirmed the fatalities. Authorities are currently working to verify the names and identities of the deceased.
