


A grand farewell reception was held on May 14 to honor the retirement of Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman, Principal of the historic Pabna Government Edward College.
The event took place at the college's Shaheed Abdus Sattar Auditorium. During the ceremony, the Teachers' Council, Employees' Union, and students presented floral tributes and a commemorative plaque to the outgoing principal. Professor Rahman also formally unveiled the cover of 'Ichamati', the college's annual magazine.
Presided over by Vice-Principal Professor Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, the discussion featured speeches from Teachers' Council Secretary Kalimuddin, Bengali Department Head Associate Professor Ruhul Amin, and Accounting Department Head Professor Aminul Islam, among others.
Speakers praised Professor Rahman’s "colorful career" and his "skillful leadership," noting significant improvements in the college's infrastructure and academic discipline during his tenure. They described him as a fair and dedicated educator who earned deep respect from his students.
In an emotional farewell address, Professor Rahman said, "This institution was more than a workplace; it was my family. I leave with the love of my colleagues and students. I have always strived for the development of this college and hope any shortcomings will be viewed with kindness."
The program concluded with the presentation of a special gift to the Principal in the presence of current and former students.
