In a warm and festive initiative marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, the Muksudpur Press Club in Gopalganj organized a special gift distribution program for local journalists, turning the muksudpur pressclub premises into a vibrant Eid-ul-Fitr of camaraderie and celebration.

The program was held on Wednesday (March 18) at the Press Club office located in Farid Mia Complex, where journalists from several media outlets across the upazila participated. In a cheerful atmosphere, Panjabis were distributed among male journalists, while female journalists received three-piece outfits, creating a sense of shared joy and appreciation among attendees.

Farid Ahmed Mia, adviser to the muksudpur Press Club, attended the program as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Journalists are a vital driving force in society. Supporting and honoring those who are committed to uncovering the truth is our moral responsibility.” He also extended advance Eid greetings and wished continued success in their professional endeavors.

The event was chaired by the President of the Press Club, Md. Siru Mia, who emphasized the spirit of togetherness, stating, “Eid is a time of joy, and sharing that joy with colleagues strengthens our bond and unity.” General Secretary Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam oversaw the overall program and coordination of the event.

Among others present were senior vice-president Hafizur Rahman Lebu, vice-president Kabir Hossain, joint secretaries Delwar Hossain and Arefin Mukta, organizing secretary Abdul Kaiyum Sharif, publicity secretary Md. Mamun Molla, sports secretary Md. Babul Hossain, ICT secretary Ismail Hossain Pannu, treasurer Md. Raju Mia, legal affairs secretary Golam Rabbi Akash, cultural affairs secretary Mehbuba Hossain Ontu, member Noor Alam Sheikh, along with members of the Press Club.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance role journalists play as the mirror of society, bringing forward issues, opportunities, and development narratives through their work. They stressed the importance of recognizing and supporting journalists for their dedication and contributions.

Participating journalists welcomed the initiatives noting that such events foster mutual respect, strengthen professional relationships, and enhance unity within the journalist community.

The program concluded with an exchange of Eid greetings among attendees. Muksudpur Press Club leaders expressed their commitment to continuing such initiatives in the future to promote welfare, solidarity, and cooperation among journalists.
