


Professor Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury has joined the Chattogram Education Board as the new chairman. He formally assumed office on Thursday (January 1) afternoon in the presence of outgoing chairman Professor Ilias Uddin Ahmed and other board officials.
At the beginning of the program, a minute's silence was observed on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and prayers and supplications were offered seeking the eternal peace of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The new chairman, Professor Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury, said that he will work to improve the quality of education in the Chattogram Education Board and its affiliated institutions, prevent student dropout, and create a teacher-student friendly environment. The existing problems of the board will be resolved and the educational activities will be made more dynamic.
He was appointed through a notification signed by Tania Ferdous, Deputy Secretary of the Government College Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, on December 18. Earlier, he served as the Vice-Principal of Chattogram Government Women's College.
Professor Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury is a 26th batch student of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of Chattogram University and has joined the 16th BCS as an officer of the General Education Cadre. His home is in Garduara Union, Hathazari Upazila, Chattogram.
