


People from all walks of life in Chattogram paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland on Victory Day. As soon as the Prothom-alo of dawn broke, a gathering of respect and emotion gathered at the Liberation War Memorial in Chattogram city.
The formalities of the great Victory Day began with 31 gunshots at sunrise on Tuesday (December 16).
Then, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain placed a wreath at the Shaheed Minar of the Liberation War Memorial. In turn, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, Chattogram Range DIG Md. Ahsan Habib Palash and District Police Superintendent Md. Nazir Ahmed Khan paid tribute.
Later, when the memorial was opened to the public, people of all ages flocked there. Some held flowers, some held banners and placards, and some held the red-green national flag. The memorial area turned into an emotional meeting place with the people who came to pay their respects.
At that time, the heroic freedom fighters, leaders and activists of various political parties, social and cultural organizations also paid tribute to the martyrs. Their voices spoke of the commitment to build the country by embodying the spirit of the Liberation War.
