Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim stated that the citizens of Bangladesh do not wish to adhere to foreign directives. Despite 53 years of independence, the people's circumstances remain unchanged. Consequently, there is a desire for Islam to hold power. Therefore, we have resolved to unite as patriotic Islamic parties. In the future, there will be a single ballot box dedicated to Islam.
He expressed these views during his address as the chief guest at a public gathering organized by the Islami Andolan Bangladesh Lakshmipur branch on Friday afternoon, November 14. A large public meeting took place at Lillah ground, chaired by District President Honorary Captain (Retd) Muh. Ibrahim and facilitated by Assistant Secretary Mao: Yusuf Al Mahmud.
Mufti Rezaul Karim remarked that there exists a party that has previously assumed power and has repeatedly turned the country into a hub of corruption. They have engaged in various offenses, including extortion, tender fraud, and land seizure. Even after a mass uprising, they continue their actions. Yet, they are eager to regain power. The students and citizens of this nation sacrificed their lives to oust the fascists, not for a return to the old order. They seek a new system and fresh leadership. The people have experienced the governance of BNP, Awami League, and Jatiya Party for 53 years.
He also mentioned that a referendum should be conducted prior to the elections. Proportional representation should be established. The legal foundation of the July Charter must be clarified before the elections. If these measures are not taken due to foreign influence or any malicious forces within the country, the Islamic movement will mobilize a robust movement alongside the citizens.
The meeting featured several notable speakers, including the Central Joint Secretary General of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh, Mao: Imtiaz Alam; the Central Dawah and Training Secretary of the Islamic Youth Movement, AHM Alauddin; the Central Assistant Secretary of the Islamic Students' Movement, Imran Hossain Noor; the District Vice President, Mao: Delwar Hossain; Mao: Mohiuddin, the President of the Islamic Workers' Movement in Laxmipur District; Dr. Nasir Ahmed, the District President of the Youth Movement; Mao: Mokhlesur Rahman; and the District President of the Students' Movement, Muha Yunus Khan.
