Mirza Abbas Leaves for Singapore in Air Ambulance for Advanced Treatment

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas left Dhaka for Singapore via air ambulance on Sunday morning to seek advanced medical care.

The air ambulance departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:17 am, confirmed his personal assistant, Mizanur Rahman Sohel. The flight is expected to take approximately four hours, after which he will be admitted to Singapore General Hospital.

Accompanying the veteran leader are his wife, Afroza Abbas, his son, Yasir Abbas, and Dr. Zafar Iqbal from Evercare Hospital.

Mr. Abbas was rushed to Evercare Hospital on Wednesday (March 11) after losing consciousness during Iftar. Following a CT scan that revealed neurological complications, a medical board was formed, and he underwent a four-and-a-half-hour brain surgery on Friday. He had been monitoring in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until his departure.
