Mirza Abbas Returns to Bangladesh After Six Months of Medical Treatment

BNP Standing Committee Member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas has returned to Bangladesh after receiving medical treatment in Singapore and Malaysia for nearly six months.

The flight carrying Mirza Abbas landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 9:30pm on Wednesday, September 2. His wife, Afroza Abbas, accompanied him on the return journey.

BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the development.

Mirza Abbas suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water during an iftar gathering on March 11. As his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital later that night.

His health deteriorated on March 15, after which he was flown from Dhaka to Singapore by air ambulance for treatment.

After receiving treatment in Singapore, he was subsequently taken to Malaysia for further medical care.

Mirza Abbas later contested the 13th National Parliamentary Election from the Dhaka-8 constituency and was elected as a member of parliament.

His return to Bangladesh comes after months of medical treatment abroad.
