The joining ceremony was held at Dakshin Indurkani Milbari Bazar under Sadar Indurkani Union. The new members formally joined Jamaat-e-Islami by presenting flowers to party leader Masud Sayedee.
Those who joined included BNP Labour Affairs Secretary Abdur Rashid, Ward No. 4 President Abdul Quddus Mridha, Joint General Secretary Sushen Samaddar, and Abdul Jalil, former organising secretary of Ward No. 9 Jubo Dal, along with more than 200 other leaders and activists.
The programme was attended by Pirojpur district Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Zahirul Islam, Indurkani Upazila Ameer Maulana Ali Hossain, Workers Welfare Federation district vice-president Maulana Abdul Hai, Islami Chhatra Shibir district secretary SM Parvez, and Pirojpur municipal Jamaat president Rafiqul Islam Rakib, among other district and upazila-level leaders.
Speakers at the event said that Islamic ideology-based politics was needed to overcome the country’s ongoing political crisis. They claimed Jamaat-e-Islami was emerging as a trusted alternative political force.
Leaders who joined the party said they were seeking a political platform based on ideology, justice and public welfare. They expressed confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance on human rights, justice and good governance.
The event was presided over by Anwar Hossain Mridha and moderated by Jamaat leader Khairuzzaman Atiq.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Masud Sayedee called on voters to support Jamaat-e-Islami in the upcoming election. He urged people to vote for the party’s election symbol and to support the referendum, calling for unity to build a country free from discrimination, extortion and violence.
