Technical and vocational education will become a mandatory subject starting in the sixth grade as part of a broader push to modernize Bangladesh's curriculum, Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced Friday.
Speaking at a Rotary Bangladesh seminar at the Krishibid Institution, Dr. Milon emphasized the government’s shift toward practical, skill-based learning. He noted that pushing all students into traditional higher education risks creating an "unemployment factory," and that the country must instead focus on building a capable, skilled workforce.
The minister also issued a stern warning against academic fraud. He confirmed that under the newly passed Public Examination Act, anyone caught engaging in digital cheating during public exams will face strict legal penalties.
