The Yemeni army said on Sunday that 260 Houthi fighters were killed in 97 operations targeting military reinforcements across various fronts in Taiz and Lahij provinces.
Military spokesperson Colonel Majed al-Nujaili said the operations involved fighter aircraft, drones, ammunition, missiles and snipers.
He also said 44 military and transport vehicles, along with various equipment used for logistical and supply operations, were destroyed or damaged.
Several hours before the army made the announcement, it had reported that at least 700 Houthi fighters were killed in 257 operations conducted across various fronts.
The Houthis have not commented on the claims.
Yemen became embroiled in conflict after the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and several provinces in 2014. In response, a Saudi-led coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015 to support the internationally recognised government.
A ceasefire announced in 2022 collapsed in July, after which fighting intensified.
