A workshop on prioritizing roads under the core road network of rural roads and verifying related data was held in Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur on Monday.
The workshop took place at the Raipur Upazila Parishad Hall in the afternoon, with LGED Lakshmipur Executive Engineer Ujjal Chowdhury attending as the chief guest. Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hasan Kawsar chaired the event.
The workshop reviewed the current condition, public importance and connectivity needs of various rural roads in the upazila.
Participants also discussed the verification and assessment of information on roads included in the core road network to determine priorities for development and rehabilitation.
Speakers said prioritising important roads based on accurate and updated information would help ensure the best possible use of limited resources.
They said such prioritisation would not only make travel easier and safer for rural residents but also improve the transportation of agricultural products and strengthen connectivity to education and healthcare services.
