


Two tourists were killed and five others critically injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Bandarban’s Thanchi upazila on Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred near Tindu Government Secondary School when a Land Cruiser with carrying a group of sightseers lost control.
The victims all residents of Khutakhali in Cox's Bazar's Chakaria upazila were traveling from their hometown via Alikadam. They had reached Tindu Mukh and were en route to Baghemukh when the fatal crash occurred. Two passengers died on the spot.
Following the incident, personnel from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Tindu Mukh camp acting under the direction of 38 BGB Commander Lt. Col. Md. Yasir Arafat Hossain launched an immediate rescue operation alongside local residents. The injured were rescued and transported to the Chakaria Upazila Health Complex for urgent medical care.
Major Md. Zakir Hossain the Deputy Director of the 38 BGB Battalion confirmed that the BGB is overseeing the medical treatment and providing necessary assistance to the survivors.
Authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause of the accident or release the identities of the deceased. Necessary legal and administrative procedures are currently underway.
