Musician and actor Pritom Hasan and model-actress and singer Shehtaz Monira Hashem are ending their marriage, saying major differences in mutual understanding led them to decide to go their separate ways.
Shehtaz Monira announced the decision in a Facebook post on Sunday (October 4) night.
In her post, Shehtaz said she and Pritom had mutually agreed to end their 10-year journey together after careful consideration and with a clear understanding between them.
“We have decided to end our 10-year married life with mutual consent and understanding,” she wrote.
She said they were both grateful for the time and memories they had shared and continued to care for each other.
“However, over time, we have realised that, due to some significant differences in our mutual understanding, living separately is better for both of us,” she said.
Shehtaz added that they had made the decision after considerable thought and were now moving towards divorce with the support of both families.
At the end of her post, she requested friends, colleagues and the media to respect their privacy during the transition.
“We hope for everyone’s support and understanding so that we can handle this new chapter of our lives in our own way. Thank you all,” she wrote.
Pritom also confirmed the decision in a separate Facebook post.
“After a 10-year journey together with mutual understanding, we have decided to end our marital relationship,” he wrote.
He also expressed gratitude for the time they had spent together, along with the memories and experiences they had shared.
“Our respect and good wishes for each other will always remain,” Pritom said.
Explaining the reason for the decision, Pritom said they had realised over time that, because of some significant differences in their mutual understanding, moving forward separately would be better for both of them.
Pritom Hasan and Shehtaz Monira Hashem got married on October 28, 2022, in a grand ceremony in Sreemangal.
They had been in a relationship for around five years before getting married.
