

A discussion meeting was held in Lakshmipur on Monday, October 5, to mark World Teachers’ Day 2026.
The meeting was organised jointly by the Lakshmipur district administration and the District Education Office at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate S M Mehedi Hasan presided over the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Mejbaul Alam Bhuiya and head teachers from various schools across the district were also present.
Speakers at the discussion said teachers play an important role in the development and progress of a nation. They said teachers not only educate students but also help shape future generations by instilling morality, human values and patriotism.
They stressed the need to engage teachers and students with technology-driven and modern education systems to improve the quality of education and keep pace with a changing world.
The speakers also emphasised the importance of ensuring teachers’ professional dignity and benefits, while calling for coordinated efforts by all relevant stakeholders to improve the overall educational environment.
Teachers from different levels, education department officials and other concerned individuals attended the meeting. They discussed ways to improve the quality of education, teachers’ responsibilities and various challenges facing the education system in the current era.
