Israeli Airstrikes Kill 7 in Southern Lebanon

At least seven people were killed and three others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Ansar in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s Civil Defense.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli forces also continued attacks on Bint Jbeil and several nearby villages, damaging homes and essential infrastructure.

Early Saturday morning, Israeli troops reportedly blew up several houses in Bint Jbeil and opened heavy-machine-gun fire toward residential areas along the Kounine–Saf al-Hawa road.

Israeli warplanes also carried out an airstrike shortly before midnight in the Al-Masha area of Al-Mansouri, in the Tyre district, according to NNA.

Later, Civil Defense officials said seven people were killed in the strike on Ansar, while three others were injured. Israeli aircraft also targeted areas around Ansar and Nabatieh al-Fawqa early Saturday.

Officials said the death toll remains preliminary as rescue operations continue and could rise.
