Hamas has agreed to a landmark ceasefire deal that includes the disarmament of its forces and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip.

US President Donald Trump announced the agreement, calling it a vital step toward establishing a new Palestinian government. Under the plan a National Committee for Administration of Gaza (NCAG)—established by the newly formed Board of Peace—will oversee the weapons handover. The roadmap demands the complete elimination of weapons depots tunnels and production facilities enforcing a strict "one authority, one law, one weapon" policy.

Following the disarmament, Israeli forces are scheduled to withdraw. An International Stabilization Force, working alongside a new Palestinian police force, will then take responsibility for Gaza's security.

Ghazi Hamad a Hamas negotiator emphasized that these concessions were made to protect the people of Gaza from further killing and displacement. Despite an existing ceasefire tragic violence has persisted in the region.

Implementation remains the next critical hurdle. Nickolay Mladenov the Board of Peace’s high representative stressed that verification must be transparent and that the Israeli withdrawal must move in lockstep with the weapons decommissioning. Egypt is preparing to host further talks with international mediators including the US Qatar and Turkey to finalize the next phases of the transition.

While Hamas awaits Israeli responses to proposed technical amendments Israeli political sources have reiterated that complete, unconditional demilitarization remains their absolute precondition for the deal.
