Forbes has officially declared Beyoncé a billionaire, marking a historic milestone in her decades-long career. She becomes the fifth musician to join the prestigious list of the world's wealthiest people, joining an elite circle that includes her husband Jay-Z ($2.5bn), Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen.
While Forbes estimated her net worth at $800 million earlier this month, several high-impact ventures pushed her over the threshold. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million. A direct-distribution deal with AMC for the concert film allowed her to pocket nearly 50% of its $44 million box office.
Her 2024 country-inspired album not only secured her a long-awaited Grammy for Album of the Year but also fueled a massive tour. The Cowboy Carter tour generated over $400 million in ticket sales and $50 million in merchandise. Recent earnings include an estimated $50 million from a Netflix Christmas Day NFL halftime show and a $10 million deal with Levi’s.
Despite record-breaking ticket prices—peaking at £950 in the UK—the Cowboy Carter tour saw a mix of results. While breaking records at major stadiums like Tottenham Hotspur and Stade De France, some dates required price slashes to fill seats. Nevertheless, the high-margin VIP experiences and merch sales solidified her financial standing.
The report also highlights the discrepancies in wealth tracking. While Bloomberg recently added Selena Gomez to its billionaire index at $1.3bn, Forbes maintains a more conservative estimate for Gomez at $700m, keeping the spotlight on Beyoncé as the latest confirmed musician to hit the 10-figure mark.
