Model and actress Tanjia Zaman Mithila is currently representing Bangladesh at the 74th edition of the Miss Universe pageant being held in Thailand. She is utilizing the global stage not just to showcase her beauty but also to highlight Bangladesh's rich culture and heritage.

Mithila is reportedly very close to winning the 'People's Choice' or popularity category, having received a record number of votes for a Bangladeshi contestant.

According to the latest data, Bangladesh needs only 14,000 more votes for Mithila to secure the top spot in the popularity category.

The voting window is critically short, ending today, November 19th, at 10 pm. Organizers and supporters have urgently requested the entire country to unite and vote for Mithila to make history in the competition.

The Miss Universe pageant, which has an annual budget of around $100 million, offers life-changing rewards for the winner.

The 'Forge for Good' diamond crown, valued at $5.5 million (approx. BDT 66 crores) it will decorated with about a thousand diamonds and sapphires. A one-year cash salary of $2.5 million (approx. BDT 3 crore dollars), one year of rent-free stay in a luxury apartment provided by the Miss Universe Organization in New York City. All costs related to food, clothing, cosmetics, marketing, and travel are covered by the authorities for the year and access to a private jet for global travel, subject to authority permission.
